No final do ano, sento-me no escuro e tento lembrar-me dos sons que deixaram a impressão mais duradoura na minha memória - com o apoio de Pedro Henriques, que fez este ano a reportagem do HighEnd, de Munique.

Assim, não procure aqui os Best-Buys ou os Best Of The Year, porque isso implica uma comparação com todos os outros produtos dentro da mesma categoria, que não temos capacidade logística para realizar. Estes são apenas os produtos áudio que eu mais gostei de ouvir/testar este ano, catalogados por categorias avulsas criadas propositadamente para 'arrumar' os galardoados, sem ter em conta o preço ou as condições em que os ouvi.

Normalmente, a lista final não anda longe da minha lista geral de audições ao longo do ano, até porque só escrevo sobre o que gosto de ouvir numa primeira audição. Estou demasiado perto do fim para ainda perder tempo com coisas (e pessoas) inúteis, e já perdi toda a esperança de deixar um mundo melhor. Portanto, não tentem encontrar aqui um qualquer 'Guia do Consumidor'. Não pretendo vender nada a ninguém.

'Escolhas do Editor' é assim o título mais apropriado para esta lista, uma vez que se trata tanto de escolhas pessoais como de opiniões críticas.

Leia o que foi publicado sobre cada um destes produtos (clicando no título respetivo) e tente ir ouvi-los, quando tiver oportunidade. Só então poderá julgar se as escolhas foram justas ou injustas.

At the end of the year, I sit in the dark and try to remember the sounds that left the most lasting impression on my memory - and with valuable input from Pedro Henriques, who reported from Munich's High End this year.

Don't look here for a list of Best-Buys or Best Of The Year products because that implies a general comparison within the same category, which we cannot do for the lack of logistics.

These are just the audio products that I most enjoyed listening to/testing this year, catalogued by random categories that were created deliberately to 'sort' the winners, without considering the price or the conditions under which we listened to them.

Usually, the final list is not far from my general list of tests and auditions during the year, not least because I only write about what I like on a first listen. I am too close to the end to still waste time on useless things (and people), and I have already lost all hope of leaving a better world behind. So please, don't look here for a 'Consumer's Guide'. I have no intention of selling anything to anyone.

Therefore, the best name for this list is "Editor's Choice," since it is as much about personal choices as it is about critical opinions.
